Extracellular products
Microorganisms can be separated from the fermentation broth by using a continuous flow centrifuge. To increase the yield, the solid is washed again and separated once more by centrifugation. The supernatants obtained from the two separations are mixed and then enter the subsequent process. 
The products of this closed processing technology must be sterilized in an environment of (at least) 121°C. The fully enclosed, steam sterilization type ultra-speed separator is suitable for this process and its pipeline can be connected to other subsequent treatment equipment in a sterile manner.
Intracellular products and inclusions
In intracellular processes, the required products are quite different in intracellular fluid or inclusion bodies. Compared with extracellular substance production, the difference is that the biological cells are collected after solid-liquid two-phase separation for reprocessing. After washing and concentration, the biological cells were subjected to cell disruption using a high-pressure homogenizer to release intracellular fluid and inclusions.
